Financial Services Breakfast
Financial Services Breakfast
Thursday, January 25, 2007
8-10AM in GCC BCD
If you are interested in business and finance careers, you are invited to attend a breakfast meeting on Thursday morning, January 25th, with local alumni who work in financial services. Both recent graduates and seasoned veterans will be available to talk about various sectors of this industry.
Investment banking, asset management, securities trading, and other financial sector jobs are among the most highly prized entry-level opportunities for graduating students. They also are the best tickets to the best MBA programs.
To compete for these opportunities requires quite a bit of preparation, both in terms of knowledge of the industry and actual experiences. Top firms are especially interested in liberal arts students but they also expect certain types of undergraduate experiences (e.g., leadership, internship, quantitative skills development). The recruitment cycle for full-time, entry level jobs typically has an early fall deadline for students who are graduating the following May. This is an opportunity for you to learn more and get an earlier start on your preparedness so that you can meet the September deadline during your senior year. (Seniors are also invited to attend).
To hold a spot at this breakfast, RSVP by Monday, January 22. The breakfast will take place on Thursday the 25th in Gray Campus Commons, Rooms B,C,D at 8 am sharp. Alumni will give short talks beginning around 8:10 and they'll be available for Q&A until around 9:30.
