6-8PM in the Rose Room at City Hall

1221 SW 4th Avenue

Have you ever wondered what it takes to work in a political office or to be an elected official? What would it take, say, to be hired by a city commissioner or the mayor? What would the work be like? Would it be rewarding, discouraging, tedious, exciting or all of the above?

New Leaders Council invites you to 'Under 30 in City Hall,' an event that will explore these and other questions with City Hall staffers who are under thirty years of age. They will talk about their experiences and aspirations working for Portland?s city commissioners and mayor.

The forum will be moderated by Commissioner Sam Adams, who got his start in politics working for Rep. Peter DeFazio while a student at the University of Oregon. This experience led him to Portland where he managed Mayor Vera Katz's first campaign, and at age 29, he became the youngest mayoral chief-of-staff in Portland's history.

Join us on May 2 from 6-8 PM in the Rose Room at City Hall (1221 SW 4th Ave). The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Please RSVP to Kim at kim@pdxcityclub.org or call (503) 228-7231 x103.

Sponsored by the City Club of Portland.  For more information on this non-profit leadership organization, see their website: http://www.pdxcityclub.org
