Career Preview Workshop

Career Services is pleased to launch its annual “career preview” initiative for students who are interested in exploring career or professional fields by connecting with alumni during winter break.  The object is to set up an informational interview  (or interviews) with Reed graduates (in whatever vicinity you plan to be), who can share details about what they do.  What education, training, skills, and competencies are most valued in their line of work?  How did they get to where they are?  What are the trends in their industry or career field?  Alumni can answer these and other questions you may have about work, opportunities, and professional life.  The interviews usually take place at their workplaces. 

If you'd like to participate, please complete this interest form to tell us a little more about what you'd like to get out of this experience.  Interest forms should be returned (in person or by emailing career.services@reed.edu) by Wednesday, October 24. 

The Career Preview Workshop will introduce you to the strategies for identifying alumni whose interests match yours, connecting with those Reedies, and getting the most out of a meeting one or more alumni.  You'll be matched with a member of the career services team who will coach you through this process.
