Career Services Invites You: 2008 Career and Internship Connection (CIC)
In cooperation with other institutions, Reed College Career Services invites you to participate in career and internship fairs in major U.S. markets over winter break. If you happen to be in or near Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, or San Francisco in early January, this is an opportunity to network with employers at events in those cities.
CICs 2008 dates:
Midwest (Chicago) - January 3rd
Washington, DC - January 4th
Boston - January 7th
New York - January 9th
West Coast (San Francisco) - January 11th

What is the Career and Internship Connection? (CIC)
• Events blending the best of a career fair and pre-screened interview.
• Network with prospective internship and full-time employers.
• Interview with nationwide employers in a variety of fields and interests.
How is the day organized?
• Connect with employers to obtain information about their organization and available internships and full-time job opportunities from 9-11:30am.
• Apply for Pre-screened Interviews. Upload and submit your resume to individual jobs by Monday, November 26, 2007 via the CIC Web site, http://cic.erecruiting.com/ and be considered for interviews day of event. Interviews will take place from 12:15 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Employers receive resume collections and select candidates for pre-scheduled interviews. Students who have not submitted their resumes are still invited to participate.
• At the event, students network with employers and submit resumes from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Recruiters may, if they desire, add students to afternoon interview schedules.
How do students register for this event?
• Go to this Web page http://www.rochester.edu/careercenter/students/cic/index.html to begin the registration process.Click on Register Here / Enter the System and then select “create an account”.
• Step 1: Create an account. Please note that this year’s Password Token is cic2008.
• Step 2: Register for an Account: In creating your user ID, select something DIFFERENT from your regular university’s online recruiting system.
• Step 3: Complete Your Profile.
• Step 4: Upload a Resume (tip: save as pdf file to preserve formatting), Cover Letter, and other required documents! By hovering over the “documents” tab and selecting “Upload a document"
• Step 5: Search and Apply for Positions: Once you’ve uploaded a resume, you can search for specific positions using the Employer Search function. You can also go to the calendar and search for the date of the event you would like to attend and view each employer’s schedule, link to the job and apply. Or do “one-click searches” and search by city (i.e. Boston, NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C).
• Step 6: Apply for Positions! At the bottom of the job description will be a button marked “Apply.” Clicking this button will either allow you to select which uploaded documents to attach to your application, or let you know which documents you are missing. Once uploaded documents are selected, your application will be submitted and you can track your application status under the “Applications” tab at the top of the homepage. Applying for positions will connect your resume and other required documents to the position for the employer to review.
