Using Keyed Software: Mac OS 9 Instructions
Installing Keyaccess
- Download the KeyAccess Installer.
- Double-click on the K2Client.sea or K2Client.sea.sit on your desktop.
- For Enter the DNS Name or IP Address of Your Key Server, type "keyserver.reed.edu", then press OK.
- When finished, the installer will bring up a message telling you that you must restart your computer to use the KeyAccess client. After you have installed KeyAccess, you can delete the KeyAccessInstaller.sea installer from your desktop.
- Click OK and restart your machine by going to the Special menu and clicking Restart.
Installing Keyed OS 9 Applications
- Connect to the Academic Software Server.
- Find the application you want to install. See our list of available keyed software for a map of the server.
- Drag the entire application folder to the hard drive of your computer. It may take time for your computer to copy the file.
- Disconnect from the Academic Software Server by dragging its icon from the desktop to the Trash.
- Double-click on the folder you just copied. If there is a folder labeled Put my contents in Prefs, double-click on that folder.
- Leave the Put my contents in Prefs folder open, double-click on the hard drive, then double-click on the System Folder.
- Drag the contents of the Put my contents in Prefs folder, but not the folder itself, into the Preferences folder of the System Folder.
If there are special instructions for installation or use of a keyed classic application you will find a file called reedme.txt located with the application on the Academic Software Server.
