Reed's Wireless Network

Reednet vs. Reed1x

Those who want to use wireless at Reed will see two networks available--Reednet and Reed1x. Reednet is the main wireless network for those who want to get online at Reed, including faculty, students and campus visitors. Beginning summer 2009, another wireless network called Reed1x has been added. The purpose of Reed1x is to provide access to select services that are not available on other networks.

Who should use Reed1x

Reed1x should only be used by administrative staff who have a known need to access a particular service that is not available on other networks. Everyone else should continue using Reednet for general wireless access. If you are unsure which wireless network to use, please contact CUS.
