The mLab offers it's users access to the popular and powerful geographic software ArcGIS. ArcGIS allows users to collect and interpret geographic data, create their own maps, perform basic spatial analyses, work with databases, and much more.
ArcGIS is an extremely powerful software that can be a little daunting to use, so the mLab can point you in the direction of various introductory online tutorials to help users get started with ArcGIS.
Please note that ArcGIS only runs on Microsoft Windows, so users must re-boot into Windows XP (restart the Mac, and keep the option key pressed during the reboot process until you get to a selection screen) in order to use the software. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need more information!
