Support for Windows Computers
Software
Computer User Services provides limited software support for Windows computers (Windows 95, 98, 2000, and NT). Specifically, we will help load canonical software such as the Blitzmail package and we will help configure computers to enable them to access the campus network for printing, use of servers, etc.
Hardware
Reed does not provide hardware repairs or upgrades to Windows computers. We will, however, install Ethernet cards on Windows machines that need to be connected to the Reed network. In addition, the Computer Shop will facilitate repairs and upgrades of college-owned Windows computers by making arrangements with local service vendors. Repairs and upgrades for privately-owned Windows machines are the responsibility of the individual. We strongly recommend the purchase of extended warranties for personally owned Windows computers.
