Upgrade Complete
Web service upgrades were completed at 5:40pm today. If you experience any difficulties or have questions please contact Computer User Services.

Single Sign-On Upgrade for Web Services Planned 10/20

Starting at 4:00 pm on Tuesday October 20, CIS will be performing an upgrade of the Reed weblogin infrastructure.  The following services will be unavailable:

at.reed.edu
blogs.reed.edu
comments.reed.edu
cdm-workspace.reed.edu
guides.library.reed.edu
reserves.reed.edu
housing-lottery.reed.edu
iris.reed.edu
moodle.reed.edu
reedstories.reed.edu
forms.reed.edu
solar.reed.edu
thesis-submission.reed.edu
visit-request.reed.edu

We expect services to be back in full service no later than 6:00 pm.  Please contact Daniel Landau with concerns or questions(ext. 7977 or dlandau@reed.edu).


Logins to account-tools restored
Logins to https://account-tools.reed.edu (used for managing your Kerberos account) are now available. If you experience further difficulty please contact CUS at 503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu.

IRIS logins available
IRIS has been restored and is now accepting logins. Logins to https://account-tools.reed.edu will remain unavailable until the hardware replacement on the server is complete. Please contact CUS (503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu) if you experience any difficulty logging into IRIS.

IRIS login problem
Due to a server failure, the following services are unavailable:
  • Logins to IRIS at https://iris.reed.edu
  • Creating or claiming a Kerberos account at https://account-tools.reed.edu
Technical staff are expecting a hardware replacement on the affected server later this morning. An update will be posted when the services have been restored or more information is available. Please contact CUS at 503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu with any questions or concerns.

Email restored
Reed's SMTP server used for sending email has been restored. The outage started around 12am Wednesday morning and was resolved at approximately 8:35am. Emails sent during the outage were queued and will be released over the next several hours. Recipients may see a delay of when those emails appear in their Inbox. Please contact CUS (503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu) if you experience further difficulty sending email.

Problems sending email
We are experiencing difficulty sending email through Reed's SMTP server. Technical staff are looking into the issue but it is not yet known when it will be fixed. An update will be posted when we have more information.

Logins fixed
The login page was fixed at about 1:15pm; if you notice any other issues please report them to cus@reed.edu.

Reed login page for many web services is down

The Reed login page for many web services is experiencing problems. Logins are currently not possible for the following websites:

  • https://moodle.reed.edu
  • https://files.reed.edu
  • https://downloads.reed.edu
  • https://myinfo.reed.edu
  • https://cdm.reed.edu
Technical staff have been alerted to the issue and it will be fixed as soon as possible. A status message will be posted once the problem is resolved.

 


IRIS restored
IRIS access has been restored. If you continue to have trouble logging into IRIS, please contact the CUS Help Desk at 503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu.

IRIS unavailable

Access to IRIS via iris.reed.edu is currently unavailable.  The system returns the error "The name and password combination provided does not match an account in the system." despite correct credentials being entered.

Technical staff are aware of the problem, and are working to fix it.  There is no estimate on when the service will be up again.  Check here for updates and a service resolution message.


Webmail and Account Tools functioning normally
The Webmail and Account Tools websites should now be functioning normally.  Please contact CUS if you are experiencing difficulties.

Webmail and Account Tools service interruption

A system error has caused some web services to be intermittently unavailable.  The following services are affected:

  • webmail.reed.edu
  • account-tools.reed.edu
Technical staff are aware of the problem, and expect to have things back up and running soon.  Check back here for updates and a status resolution message.

SOLAR and other network services restored
SOLAR and account-tools.reed.edu have been restored. If you experience any difficulty using these services, please contact the CUS Help Desk at 503-777-7525 or cus@reed.edu.

A network outage has caused intermittent problems with the following services:

  • account-tools.reed.edu
