The following are answers to the most common questions asked about Reed's phone system:
Why is the callers extension not given when retrieving voicemail messages?
This is not an automatic function of the voicemail system, so the extension number needs to be included when you record your name on the system. To do this enter voicemail, then enter 7 7 5. When the system asks you to speak your name, speak your name and extension number. For example I spoke "Gary Schlickeiser extension 7570."
How do I access the voicemail system?
Dial 5580 or use the voicemail button on your phone. If you are off-campus dial (503) 517-5580.
How do I access my voicemail from another extension?
When the system asks for a password press 9 followed by the extension of the voicemail box you wish to access.
How do I bypass someones personal greeting and just leave a message?
Press the * sign, and leave your message.
How do I use the redial list?
The system stores the last 5 calls. Press redial until you find the number then * to choose the number.
What is my system ID and password for the voicemail system?
Your system ID is your extension.
How do I make an international call?
Dial 9 + International Code + Country Code + Local Number
For example, if you wanted to reach Geneva Switzerland you would dial 9 + 011 + 41 + 22 + Local Number
If you experience trouble try removing the the preceding zero for the international code or city code.
I want to make a change to the way the features work on my phone. For example I want to be able to pick up the extension of another person in my department.
