Web Support Services
Reed Portal Proposal
Reed's web environment contains many different programs that require the user to login. Over the years the array of secure web applications has grown in number, diversity and complexity. The user experience is fragmented and there is not sufficient room for growth as more functions move to the web. Screenshots of the current web applications are here .
CIS proposes to address these concerns by creating a unified web portal that provides one integrated interface to secure web services. Users would have one place to go where they can login and be presented with an array of programs appropriate to them. The user interface design would more gracefully handle the growing number of programs and constituents (eg, applicants, parents, trustees).
The draft mock-up (spring 2006) shows what a new portal might look like. Bear in mind that not all programs are available to all users. Also, the name is just a placeholder.
