If you observe a suspicious object or possible bomb, do not handle the object.

If you find a suspicious object:

  • Immediately clear the area.
  • Call the community safety office (extension 7533). Describe the exact location of the suspicious object.
  • Evacuate the building if directed by community safety officers. Follow building evacuation procedures.

If you receive a bomb threat by phone:

  • Attempt to obtain as much information as possible. Use the checklist below.
  • Call the community safety office (503/777-7533) immediately.

Questions to ask the caller:

1. When is the bomb going to explode?

2. Where is it right now?

 

7. Why?

3. What does it look like?

 

8. What is your address?

4. What kind of bomb is it?

 

9. What is your name?
