Call extension 7283
Major Utility Failures (natural gas, electricity)
- During regular business hours, beginning at 8:30 a.m., call physical plant maintenance (extension 7283).
- After business hours, call community safety dispatch (extension 7533).
Phones
- When phones return call Elta Ping, telecommunications coordinator (extension 7555).
Utility Problems
- Gas leaks: Vacate the area. Do not turn on or off lights or any electrical device where gas can be detected. Call physical plant maintenance (extension 7283).
- Elevator failure: Elevators have emergency buttons with direct voice communication to community safety dispatch. Inform dispatch immediately.
- Plumbing or flooding: Turn off electrical equipment if you can safely do so. Call physical plant maintenance (extension 7283). Vacate the area if danger is significant.
- Electrical failure: Emergency lighting will allow you to safely exit the building. Your specific circumstance will dictate whether you will need to leave the building or not. Call physical plant maintenance (extension 7283).
