Giving to Reed

Annual Fund Volunteers

Annual giving at Reed College is a concerted group effort. Annual Fund volunteers believe in the importance and uniqueness of a Reed education. Their mission to communicate that belief to their classmates, friends, and acquaintances.

Annual Fund Chair—works as a liaison between the college and the entire alumni body, helping to solicit gifts at all levels, providing critical feedback to staff, and facilitating alumni input on Annual Fund programs.

Griffin Chair—represents donors who make annual gifts to Reed College at the $1,000 level and above. The Griffin Chair helps to solicit and steward gifts from current leadership gift society members, encourage upgrades, and recruit new members who have the capacity and desire to give at the Griffin level and above.

Young Alumni Chair—works to communicate the Annual Fund’s mission and goals to alumni who have graduated within the past ten years to maximize participation and giving.

Parent Council Chair—presides over the Reed Parent Council and hosts the Parent Council luncheon during Parent and Family Weekend. As an advocate for strong parent philanthropy, the chair is asked to support the college at a leadership level.

Reunions Gift Chairs—build support from classmates for the Reed College Annual Fund during a reunion year. Gift chairs pledge their own increased support early in the reunion year and solicit special reunion gifts from classmates throughout the year.
