When you need care beyond what HCS offers, the costs incurred by seeking treatment elsewhere will depend upon your insurance coverage. Reed offers insurance for its students, which covers primary and specialty care off campus. We recommend that the Reed health center refer you. If you are covered under a parent’s insurance, we recommend that you determine your level of coverage ahead of time. HMOs, in particular, may have restrictions about where and by whom you can be treated. If you need consultation with an off-campus specialist, HCS can assist with an appropriate referral.
