damali ayo, author, artist, and comedian, speaks about race, art,
and eco-living. Her award-winning work has been shown at galleries
across the world. damali and her work have been featured in over 100
publications world-wide including Harpers, the Village Voice, Salon.com, the Washington Post, Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune, Redbook, and CSPAN2's Book TV.
Some of her well known works are How to Rent a Negro and Panhandling for Reparations. Her forthcoming book is entitled Obasmistan! Land Without Racism. View her biography at this site.

Multicultural Affairs
Multicultural affairs seeks to sustain a campus environment that is welcoming and supportive for all students, staff, and faculty. Multicultural affairs has a particular interest in making sure the community is open to the experiences of individuals who identify with underrepresented communities. This is accomplished through developing educational and social programs that facilitate dialogue, addressing issues of class, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and diverse social perspectives. In addition, multicultural affairs coordinates the Peer Mentor Program and community outreach with organizations that serve the educational interest of underrepresented communities in greater Portland.
