Obama’s Lead Economic Adviser to Speak at Reed College


Austan Goolsbee, “America’s Economic Agenda” Thursday, September 25, 7:30 p.m., Vollum lecture hall


PORTLAND, OR (September 23, 2008)--Barack Obama’s lead economic adviser, Austan Goolsbee,
will speak at Reed College on Thursday, September 25, at 7:30 p.m., as part of Reed’s Public Policy Lecture Series. Goolsbee’s lecture, “America’s Economic Agenda,” will be followed by a question and answer period. The lecture is free of charge and open to the public.

Goolsbee has worked with Senator Obama since his successful U.S. Senate campaign in Illinois. Goolsbee is a 2006 Fulbright scholar who serves as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, as a research fellow at the American Bar Foundation, and as a columnist for the New York Times. His research focuses on the Internet, investment, and taxation.
