Your address at Reed
Student mail stop numbers will be assigned by August 15; call or email mail services to get your mail stop number, then you can start shipping your things to Reed. U.P.S., U.S. Postal Service, DHL, and FedEx deliver and pick up at mail services every weekday.
PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN SHIPPING UNTIL AUGUST 15. If this is a problem, please call or email mail services to make special arrangements.
Use the address format below for all student mail at Reed:
Your Name
Reed College MS number
3203 SE Woodstock Blvd.
Portland OR 97202-8199
Note: Always use the designation “MS” (mail stop). Never use “P.O. Box” or “Box” in your Reed College address or your mail may be lost or misdirected by the U.S. Postal Service. This is important to remember when you open a bank account or start a magazine subscription! If you do not know your mail stop number, write “new student” in the second line of the address.
After you arrive at Reed
Come to the mail services customer window with your student ID card. You’ll be given the combination to your mailbox and can pick up any shipments that have arrived for you. You will receive package notices in your mailbox when packages arrive.
Always keep your mailbox door locked to deter theft. After you check your mail, close the door, and twirl the dials to lock it.
By email
Each community member has at least two email addresses at Reed. One is based on the full name (usually first.last@reed.edu, unless there is a conflict). The other is based on the network username (username@reed.edu). Either will work. Upper or lower case never matters in email addresses at Reed.
By phone
The four-digit extension number for campus calling is printed on the jack in each room: the direct line is 503/517+extension.
Changing your address
To change your address after you have been admitted to Reed, contact the registrar’s office.
