It’s never too early to plan a career. The career services office provides resources for everything on a job-seeker’s “to do” list. Here is what students can do while attending Reed.

Freshmen & sophomores

Juniors & seniors

  • Attend career services seminars to learn how Reed alumni found careers
  • Register for information on programs and services relating to their interests
  • Participate in Career Preview to job shadow a professional
  • Look at listings for part-time jobs on or off campus
  • Attend workshops on résumé writing and interviewing skills
  • Participate in career counseling to better understand self and career options
  • Find summer jobs or internships that explore interests and improve marketable skills
  • Volunteer for an organization that reflects interests
  • Get involved with student groups and organizations for skill-building experience
  • Use the alumni network for recommendations on employers and graduate schools
  • Join a professional association related to occupational interests
  • Prepare for graduate school tests or national fellowships, awards, and scholarships
  • Attend job search workshops
  • Find a summer job or internship to help with career decisions, gain skills, or enhance grad school applications
