Yellow Brick Road: Homeless Outreach
Yellow Brick Road
is a volunteer-based street outreach program established in 1984 in
Portland, Oregon. Yellow Brick Road is a non-political, non-religious,
non-judgemental organization that provides immediate eye-to-eye
advocacy, first-aid & hygiene supplies, community resources, &
referrals to Portland's diverse street dependent population. Yellow
Brick Road is a volunteer experience that changes lives! Join
your fellow Reedies volunteering one night a week from 5 to 10 p.m. in
downtown Portland. This program qualifies for the off-campus federal work study internship program.

Sisters of the Road is an extraordinary café that offers low cost, hot, nutritious meals in exchange for cash, food stamps, or work. It also provides job training, support to parents and children, and innovative solutions to the issues surrounding poverty and homelessness through self and community advocacy.
Dignity Village is a formerly mobile tent city in Portland, Oregon, well on its way to becoming a green, sustainable, urban village. It is home for people who might otherwise inhabit doorways and sidewalks. Dignity provides a peaceful community, a clean environment, a center, and safety.
