Luke Will
Cabin manager

Hi! My name is Luke Will and along with my puppy Tischer, I live at the Ski Cabin. This is my second year as the manager. I came here in November of 2006 from Missoula, MT where I worked for the City Parks and Recreation Department.
I am a native of White Bear Lake, MN, where I grew up camping and canoeing with my parents and brothers across the state. After high school I started rock climbing, kayaking, and backpacking along the north shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. The Lake, as I affectionately know it, is a spectacular resource with a personality all its own. I formed a strong connection with The Lake and so after a year of College in Wisconsin I transferred to the University of Minnesota at Duluth (UMD). Duluth is located right on the Southwest point of Lake Superior.
I graduated with a B.A.S. degree in Recreation and Outdoor Education from UMD in May 2005. My life and my goals have changed over the years, but my passions have remained much the same. I am a lover of life outdoors, the natural environment, the smell of pine, the leaves changing color during the Fall, deep snow, cold temps, mid-day siestas, and the most important factor: laughter.
My interests and hobbies have brought me to many beautiful places over the western United States. I have been ice climbing in Ouray, CO and Canada, mountain biking in Fruita, CO, fly fishing throughout the Yellowstone Ecosystem, rafting in Montana, canoe camping in the BWCAW of Northern MN, backpacking in the Badlands of North Dakota, sea kayaking in the Apostle Islands on The Lake, and climbing in South Dakota, Montana, and Colorado. This season on returning to the cabin I have been bitten by the surfing bug, and try to make it to the coast as often as I can. The cold Pacific reminds me of the cold Superior, where I learned to surf in whitewater kayaks.
As always, I am excited to meet you upon your visit to the cabin! I look forward to company and adventure. Good food, music, and a fire in the wood stove are important experiences that the cabin is perfect for. You may see me around campus as well, teaching a class or two in the Physical Education Department. Remember, wellness comes from the balance of mental, physical, and spiritual awareness. Come use the cabin and be well!
