Judo is an Olympic sport and martial art.  Judo was founded by Jigoro  Kano in 1882 as a
method of self defense that could be practiced  throughout the life span.  He took
techniques from Ju jitsu and  developed others on his own.  The IOC adopted it as an
olympic sport  in 1964.

Sport judo uses throw's, pins, arm locks, and strangles.  Practicing  judo improves
balance, strength, flexibility, self confidence.  It is  based on the premises of
Mutual welfare and benefit and Maximum efficiency.
