Installing Keyed Classic Applications

Note: Make sure you have installed KeyAccess with the Classic environment running, or you will not be able to run keyed Classic applications.

  1. Connect to the Academic Software Server.
  2. Find the application you wish to install. See our list of available keyed software for a map of the server.
  3. Drag the entire application folder to the hard drive of your computer. It may take time for your computer to copy the file.
  4. Disconnect from the Academic Software Server by dragging its icon from your desktop to the Trash.
  5. Double-click on the folder you just copied. If there is a folder labeled Put my contents in Prefs, double-click on that folder.
  6. Leave the Put my contents in Prefs folder open, double-click on the hard drive, then double-click on the classic System Folder. (It has a nine on it.)
  7. Drag the contents of the Put my contents in Prefs folder, but not the folder itself, into the Preferences folder of the classic System Folder.

If there are special instructions for installation or use of a keyed classic application you will find a file called reedme.txt located with the application on the Academic Software Server.
